- Description
- Wiener illustrirte Garten-Zeitung, jahr. 15, (1890) Begonia semperflorens rubra, exhibited at the Societe nationale d'horticulture de France on July 24, 1890, by the breeder Mr. Bury, near Blois. Their flowers are of very vivid red blood, while the leaved foliage shows a brown-red color; in any case, an excellent variety for summer plantings, ribbon and carpet patterns outdoors. We believe that we should mention that the establishment A.R. Obentraut brought a similar dark-blooded variety in this spring under the difficult title of Begonia florida incomparabilis Hofgartner Pettera, but can not give details of their differences.
