Description
Planta perennis, caulibus lignosis 6-8 mm in diametro, repentibus. Foliis usque ad 30 cm longis, pedunculo erecto 5-15 mm longo, lamina membranacea vix asymetrica, ovato-oblonga, 8-15 X 7-11 cm, pallide viride, marginibus obscure lobatis paucidentatis. Florum MALE tepala 2,6 X 6 mm; staminibus circa 16, filamentis brevibus, liberis antheris 1,7-1,9 mm longis. Flores FEMALE ignoti. Capsula trialata, 15 x 10-12 mm alis inaequalibus. Perennial plant, aerial vegetative apparatus distinctly lignified at the base, with a rather stiff branch, more or less creeping, reaching 6-8 mm in diameter on the known specimens. Light gray-brown bark, finely striated longitudinally. Many adventitious roots. Leaves large, up to 25-30 cm long, erect. Petiole 5-15 cm long, rather stiff but thin (2-3 mm) weakly angular, usually hairy, brownish-brown, ± dense. Leaf weakly dissymmetrical, ovate-oblong, darkly lobed and very weakly toothed, rather fine, dull green on both sides, 8-15 / 4 7-11 cm obtuse or very little acuminum at the apex, barely or not cord at base. Ribs a little puzzled - brown on the lower face, rest of the limb almost completely hairless. Inflorescence pauciflora, shorter than the leaves, with common peduncle 5-10 cm long, glabrous. MALE flowers have 2 rounded tepals of 6 x 6 mm. Stamens 16 approx., With free nets shorter than antheres which reach 1.7-1.9 mm. FEMALE flowers unknown. Capsule almost mature enough small, 15 X 10-12 mm, clearly triailee, has a wing a little larger than the others. Seeds seen only immature. - Pl. 23 p. 77.
