Description

Brandt, Charlottenburg, is a new acquisition of great ornamental value! For this plant possesses the brightest metallic colors, which do not yet exist among the begonias. She has an upright stature, is self-sufficient and does not need support, because she grows squat. Through its branching and its many leaves, it forms a closed whole. The leaf, 18 cm long and 14 cm broad, is medium sized, of solid substance. The main color is a dark-carmen rose, which radiates both from the center and the margin, is still increased by the black center and the deep dark bronze border. This plant is very suitable for mass culture for the market. Pg. 412 - Begonia Mme Henry Gache, a novelty of Auguste van Geert, Ghent, which Mr. R. Brandt, Charlottenburg, moved in the last year, exhibited the latter in 3 cuttings from this spring. They were very fond of the new red bronzes. bright color and are recommended for the market. The judges gave them the monthly prize.
