- Description
- Begonia 'Herselph' No. 821-Begonia 'Cowboy Jeans' x unnamed seedling 'Herselph' Rhizomatous. Apple-green, 3" x 5", lobed leaves have somewhat crispate ciliate margins, glabrous surface, and 5 to 6 veins. Petioles are hairy and red speckled; stipules chartaceous. Pink to white flowers, borne in cymes on 7" to 10" peduncles in midwinter, are about 1" across, with 2 male and 2 female tepals. The very concave leaf and fluted edges give this cultivar a distinct appearance. The pollen parent originated in cultivation in Australia. B. 'Herselph' was originated in 1977 by Kit Jeans (address above); first bloomed in 1978; first distributed in 1979. Registered April 1, 1980.
