- No. 434 - Begonia (B. manicata aureo-maculata var. crispa x B. liebmannii) · 'Hiro' Silvery lettuce-leaved, this rhizomatous begonia was developed by Hiroshi Shigemi, address above, in 1970; it first bloomed in 1971 and was first distributed and published in 1972. The silvery-green leaves are star-shaped, crested, with twisted margin and glossy texture; seven nerved, the stipules are sturdy and the petioles eight inches. Flowers are white, blooming in spring on 6" stems. Registered Jan. 6, 1975.
