Description
No. 508 - Begonia (B. paranaensis X B. 'Jill Adair' selfed) 'Jack Golding' This hairy-leaved, 15"-stemmed, shrub-like plant was developed by Belva Kusler (address above) in 1969, first bloomed in 1970 and was distributed in 1973, has leaves with satin sheen, double dentate and undulate margin with large clusters of white flowers with undulated tepals, B. 'Jack Golding' erect, high above leaves on 10" round, glabrous flower stem; male flower, 2 ½”, 4-petaled; female flower 1 ½”, 5-petaled, blooming all year. Leaves are ivy-green above and blood-red below, obliquely ovate, acute, basal lobes, 8112 x 5"; texture is coriaceous, scattered hirsute; nerves 7, evident, palmate, transverse; petioles 1 ½”, oval, with top grooved, villous; stipules 1%", first spring green, then marcescent, keeled. Registered August 30, 1975.
