- No. 427-Begonia (unknown parentage) 'Mara' Conjecturing that a B. bowerae hybrid may have been the pollen parent of this rhizomatous begonia which Mrs. Mickey Meyer, address above, developed in 1973, first blooming in 1974 when it was distributed, the originator describes the leaves as bright green, fluffy, loosely falling, bluntly starred with one long point, 4½" x 5 1/2 "; white eyelash, black blanket-edging, crisp texture, with seven veins slightly indented. Blooms from spring through autumn with pale pink flowers, held ·upright on 8-10" stems high above the plant. Registered Sept. 25, 1974.
